The virus of misogynism has struck again! The European Parliament had been on the brink of praising in its annual report on human rights our Ministry of Public Order for the policy of equality it had adopted by repealing the quotas on women's recruitment, when the Police Personnel Dept. made sure they wouldn't. You want equality? Here's some equality: OK, we will not measure your intelligence, skills and mental abilities, which we don't really need anyway. We'll fight you where you can't win – sports, height, strength, endurance! (strangely enough, they did not include premature balding or moustaches).

Equality then in height (minimum 1.70 m., no shoes), equality at running distances of 100 and 1,000 m., equality at the high jump, the long jump, and the shot (7.275 kg.). Undersized females of 1.69 m. needn't apply – they'll be shown the door.

 

Now all the Ministry of Public Order needs to do is export its views on equality of the sexes to the international sports federations and the IOC, so that the Olympic Games of 2004 are held in full equality of the bodies...
